CEBU, Philippines - An internet café, which is set to open next week, was robbed of its newly-installed computer devices estimated to be worth P200,000 by unidentified persons.
The owner, Christine Silva, 35, of Decca Homes in Minglanilla, yesterday reported the breaking in of her internet café to the Mambaling police station.
Silva said that she went to the internet café along Natalio Bacalso Avenue at 5:30 a.m. yesterday only to be surprised that the padlock was already destroyed. She believes that it was cut using a vault cutter.
Silva said all the computer sets and other gadgets installed last Thursday were already gone. Silva could not give an estimate how many computer sets were installed inside but she pegged the amount of the stolen items to be more or less P200,000.
The owner said she believed that the break in happened between 1 to 5 a.m. because the workers at the nearby establishment left their office at 1 a.m. According to the police, people responsible may have used a car or any four-wheeled vehicle to carry the loot.
SPO1 Rene Sebes said he is still investigating the case. As of yesterday evening, the culprits remained unknown because not a single person has witnessed the incident. (FREEMAN NEWS)
