Two siblings injured in Inayawan shooting
CEBU, Philippines - Two siblings were injured after they were shot by three unidentified persons believed to be cohorts of their neighbors whom they had a fistfight with last Friday.
The police identified the victims as Efren Dacillo, 21 and his brother Elwood, 27, residents of barangay Inayawan, Cebu City.
One of the suspects was only identified as Erap while the other two, including a woman, remained unknown.
The unidentified assailants waylaid the Dacillo brothers on a dark pathway in barangay Inayawan at past 9:00 p.m. last Friday while they were on their way to buy cigarettes.
Elwood said he was following his younger brother because he was drunk when they were fired upon by their assailants. Elwood said he greeted the suspects but they were answered with bursts of gunfire.
Elwood said he tried to grab the gun that fell on the ground from one of the fleeing suspects but man’s cohort fired at him. Fortunately he was only hit on his short pants.
Efren on the other hand was hit on his stomach and was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center by a responding policeman.
Elwood claimed that prior to the incident, Efren went home and narrated that he had a fistfight with their neighbor, Ronnie Labrada, at the billiard hall located a few meters away from their residence.
They then advised Efren to sleep and not to go out but the latter insisted to go out to buy cigarettes (FREEMAN NEWS)
