Maambong says mayoralty bid a challenge
CEBU, Philippines - Board Member Victor Maambong has admitted that seeking the mayoralty post in Consolacion town is a big challenge, considering that he is yet to get the support of Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and the One Cebu Party.
Maambong said his resources are very limited, but he is reportedly compensating the same through working closely with leaders in different barangays in Consolacion. He said the expectations are also high, considering that he once served as municipal councilor and Sangguniang Kabataan chairman prior to his stint at the Provincial Board.
Maambong earlier wanted to run for Congress for the sixth district, but decided to back out when One Cebu decided to support the candidacy of Board Member Gabriel “Luigi” Quisumbing.
Maambong said he will introduce a new type of administration that would “really serve the interest of the people of Consolacion.” He said he would also provide immediate attention to environmental problems.
Augustin Lloveras, former police officer and candidate for councilor under Maambong, said they are supporting Maambong’s candidacy because of the latter’s “new type of leadership.” (FREEMAN NEWS)
