Car wash boy indicted for murder

CEBU, Philippines - A 19-year-old car wash boy from Talisay City was charged with murder before the Regional Trial Court for allegedly killing his co-worker while in slumber.

The Talisay City Prosecutor’s Office has indicted Andro Trania for stabbing to death a fellow car washer, Tony Dinglas, on April 2 at 1:30 in the morning while the latter was sleeping at the quarters of the Great Day Car Wash in barangay Lawaan I, Talisay City.

Lyme Cantonao who witnessed the incident said that they were sleeping together with the victim at their quarters when they were awakened by the screaming of the victim.

Cantonao said they saw the victim bloodied with a stab wound on the chest.

Before the incident, Trania and Dinglas engaged in a fistfight but the suspect was defeated.

The witness said he heard Trania threatening to get even with Dinglas by saying “bantay ka lang.”

The witness added that the victim, before he died at the hospital, told them that it was Trania who stabbed him.

Trania tried to escape but was arrested by the pursuing barangay tanods.

The tanods recovered a kitchen knife from the accused which was used as the murder weapon.

The prosecutor did not recommend bail for the temporary liberty of Trania. — Chessa Elaine Antipuesto, NORSU Intern/FPL   (FREEMAN NEWS)
