2 suspected rapists fall
CEBU, Philippines - Two suspected rapists were arrested in a hot pursuit operation conducted by the members of the Moalboal Police Station following a complaint filed by an 18-year old differently abled woman.
The victim, name withheld, sought the assistance of the police last Tuesday evening after she was allegedly raped by Derio Pelletero and Marcony Ignacio in barangay Saavedra, Moalboal.
The victim and some of her relatives were on a beach outing in Sitio Bas Dako at 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon last Tuesday when the incident happened. The victim allegedly went missing for few hours while walking along the shoreline.
When the victim returned at 7:00 p.m. she was already crying. They immediately reported the incident to the police prompting a hot pursuit operation.
Pelletero and Ignacio were arrested few hours later in barangay Saavedra. According to the police, the suspects used a kitchen knife to scare the victim. — Gabriel C. Bonjoc/FPL (FREEMAN NEWS)
