ROTC, PHILSCA cadets graduation
CEBU, Philippines - “There is no greater joy in life than serving others.”
These were the words of Philippine Air Force Colonel Alfredo Cayco, the vice commander of the Air Force Reserved Command, during the graduation ceremony of the Reserved Officers Training Course Cadets and Cadets of the Philippine State College of Aeronautics (PHILSCA) at the Mactan Benito Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City.
Cayco said the reserved officers need to undergo training in order for them to be prepared since they are the first line of rescuers in cases of emergency.
“They need to be trained and highly motivated individuals who can rise to help the in need and be ready to be of service when needed,” Cayco said.
He said the burden of extending immediate help to victims before normal emergency services arrive lies on their shoulders.
