CEBU, Philippines - A 32-year-old woman was arrested for selling shabu during a buy-bust operation yesterday noon in her residence in sitio Sapa-Sapa in barangay Ibabao-Estancia, Mandaue City.
Daisy Montecillo Talingting, 32, a single parent who has a 4-year-old son, was arrested after handing over alleged shabu in exchange for P300 in marked money to a police poseur buyer.
Also seized from her were four small packs containing alleged shabu.
Her alleged paramour (name withheld), who is a member of the Traffic Enforcement Agency Management (TEAM), and who was at her house during the raid, was also arrested by the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAIDSOTG) and taken to the Mandaue City Police Office.
But CAIDSOTG chief P/Insp. Raymond Rodriguez later ordered the release of the traffic enforcer after being convinced during a tactical interrogation that he was not involved in Talingting’s illegal drug trade.
However, had it not been for Talingting's arrest, the traffic enforcer's wife would not have known about her husband’s relationship with her friend.
The enforcer called his wife, and, at the MCPO, the wife was surprised to see her husband and the crying Talingting being investigated.
It was the police who told her that her husband was carrying an affair with Talingting.
The wife said she and Talingting used to be friends.
She said Talingting used to be a neighbor in barangay Looc, Mandaue City.
She is presently detained at the Mandaue City police station. —Flor Z. Perolina (FREEMAN NEWS)
