Gwen, Glenn target Argao in sortie

CEBU, Philippines - The One Cebu Party of Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and his running mate businessman Glenn Anthony Soco will hold the grand rally of the opening salvo of their campaign in Argao town, the hometown of her rival gubernatorial candidate Hilario Davide III this coming March 26.

Garcia told reporters that they will first hear a Mass scheduled in Dumanjug town, the hometown of the governor, and visit every town in the second district and wrap up in Argao.

Garcia is repeating the same campaign approach in 2004 when she first sought the gubernatorial post.

Garcia and Soco have also visited Argao several times after they filed their candidacy.

Argao town Mayor Edsel Galleos and mayors of the different towns in the second district have already assured their full support for Garcia and Soco during a meeting called for by Second District Rep. Pablo Garcia.

Davide, who wants to challenge the re-election bid of Garcia, is a resident of Argao town but was also elected as councilor in Cebu’s City’s north district. — Jose P. Sollao/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
