CEBU, Philippines - A 15-year-old minor landed in the hospital after he was stabbed by the brother of another minor he reportedly mauled that same day.
Both the victim and the suspect, identified as Cesar Gomez, 18, were attending a dance in barangay Gairan, Bogo City evening last Friday when around 11pm, Gomez approached the victim and stabbed him on the stomach with a knife.
A commotion occurred when the other people in the dance saw the victim fall to the ground.
The victim was rushed to the Severo Verallo District Hospital in Bogo, but was later transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center because of his critical condition.
PO3 Allan Dosods of the Bogo City Police said revenge was the main motive of the stabbing because the victim allegedly mauled and tied the suspect’s younger brother prior to the dance.
Gomez later surrendered voluntarily to the police and is now facing formal charges against him.
Both the victim and the suspect are residents of barangay Sto. Niño in Bogo. — Antoniette T. Parce/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
