CEBU, Philippines - Fire destroyed four houses in sitio Dapdap, barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City alleged to have been set off by faulty electrical wiring.
City fire Marshall Ricardo Cornillo said the fire started at around 10:15 a.m. and was contained inside three minutes.
Fire investigator SFO2 Jumid Alburo said the fire originated from the house of Gregoria Tampus, which spread to other three houses made of light materials.
Alburo put damage to property at P200,000.
Since the most common cause of fires in residential houses is faulty electrical wiring, the Bureau of Fire Protection has advised that electrical appliances should be unplugged before residents go to sleep or leave the house. – Garry B. Lao (FREEMAN NEWS)
