Man shot dead by Bloods

CEBU, Philippines - A 42-year-old man was shot and killed by three alleged Bloods gang members, one of whom was the boyfriend of his daughter, past 10 p.m. last Wednesday in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City.

Richard Niez, a construction painter, was shot several times by allegedly his neighbors Glenn de Guzman, Jonas Flores alias “Jonas Bardinas”, and Joaquin Cornejo alias “Waray”, the alleged boyfriend of his 14-year-old daughter.

Investigation showed that the victim was out to bring his daughter, who was also a member of the gang, home from a nearby shanty where the girl often hung out with her peers.

The three allegedly faced him and at the height of the confrontation, the suspects allegedly got irked and helped one another attack and maul the victim.

Then one or two of the suspects held the victim while another shot the victim several times, hitting him in both shoulders, the abdomen and arm. Niez was killed on the spot. — Niña G. Sumacot/BRP   (FREEMAN NEWS)
