CEBU, Philippines - If the welcome they received in the Visayas were to gauge their victory, Nacionalista Party vice presidential bet Loren Legarda said they already feel like winners.
“We already feel like winners… that’s because of the very warm welcome we’ve received in all the places we visited in the Visayas. And the welcome we got here was no less as warm and encouraging as in the other places,” Legarda said following their visit to Bantayan Island last Sunday.
The NP candidates, together with standard bearer Manny Villar, visited the so-called “enchanted house” in the northern island.
The so-called enchanted house is a popular tourist destination in Bantayan and has reportedly been visited by former presidents Sergio Osmeña, Diosdado Macapagal, Ramon Magsaysay, Ferdinand Marcos, Fidel Ramos, Joseph Estrada and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo even before they won the presidential race.
But Legarda admitted the belief that the “enchanted house” had something to do with a candidate’s victory might not appeal much, especially to a voter who is already skeptical about survey results.
