-

CEBU, Philippines - Valentine’s Day did not only become a time to show love for other people, but also for the environment by the members of AAGAPAY or Alalay at Gabay sa Pag-unlad ng Pamayanan, who conducted a coastal cleanup activity in the town of Moalboal, Cebu.

Dubbed as “Pagmamahal sa Kalikasan,” local officials led by Mayor Yvonne Cabaron as well as partner organizations, took part in the activity.

Moalboal, which is located in the southwestern side of the province, is a popular destination for both local and foreign tourists due to it dive spots and beaches.

Also supporting the activity was the Moalboal Water District, Globe Telecom, Ang Babaye ugang Kalikupan Asosasyon (ABAKA)-Moalboal, Bai Barkadahan of barangay Tunga, Guardians Brotherhood South Cebu Chapter, Order of Scathz, and the AAGAPAY Youth.

The AAGAPAY Youth is one of the active components of its mother organization, which is a national movement that is a broad alliance of individuals, national government agencies, non-government organizations, religious groups, business, civil society groups, students, legal and other professionals, who have a common adherence for “peace, security and development.”

This organization is not affiliated with any political group or individual and its aim is to propagate “a safe of secured environment.”
