CEBU, Philippines - Nine persons were arrested by the police for alleged involvement in illegal drugs and vagrancy during a saturation drive in barangay Kamagayan late evening last Monday.
The saturation drive was conducted by operatives of the Investigation and Detective Management Branch of the city police together with members of the Barangay Intelligence Network.
First to be arrested were six persons who were allegedly in possession of Nubain. The six were identified as Jonas Pansacala, 33, of barangay Talamban; Rodolfo Lumagda, 32, of C. Padilla Street; Galileo Gealon, 31, of barangay Lahug; Rey Carlos Moreno, 26, of Carlock St.; Francis Jake Enriquez, 24, of Cabreros St.; and Jonas Gabutin, 21, of barangay Guadalupe.
Later, the operatives arrested three persons for vagrancy, namely Elvin Molina, 36, of Tisa-Labangon; Jelly Bacalso, 31, of Inayawan; and Clorer Villacarta, 29, of Basak, Lapulapu City.
Operative also recovered videokarera and moli-moli machines from the barangay.
The gambling machines were turned over to City Hall while all suspects are detained temporarily at the CCPO stockade while awaiting appropriate charges against them. – Niña G. Sumacot/JMO (FREEMAN NEWS)
