CEBU, Philippines - The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office yesterday presented to the media the first nationwide big winner of its new game called “Scratch It Diamond Dazzler.”
Jam Abidin Batuas, a resident of Balamban town, won the game with P500,000 prize, his biggest since he joined different PCSO games for the past ten years.
“Lipay kaayo ko. Bawi na ang akong nagasto. Sobra pa gani,” he said in an interview at the PCSO regional office yesterday.
He said that he would use his money as additional capital for his dry goods business at the Balamban Public Market.
Aside from Batuas, lotto agent Dionisio Supilanas also get 10 percent of the P500,000 from the PCSO as agent bonus. Batuas bought his winning Diamond Dazzler Card at Supilanas’ lotto outlet.
William Medici, PCSO manager for Visayas and Mindano, explained that Supilanas’ ten percent bonus comes from PCSO and not from the winner’s money.
Medici said this is the first time that the P500,000 prize is won since they launched the new game last December.
He added that on March 1, PCSO will launch what it called “Sales Rally” to further entice the people play the new game.
The PCSO is the principal government agency tasked to raise and provide funds for health programs, charities and other services of national character. — Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon/LPM (FREEMAN NEWS)
