-

CEBU, Philippines - A female Chinese national was found hanging dead inside the comfort room of a building along Junquera Extension, Barangay Santa Cruz, Cebu City past 9 a.m. yesterday.

It was believed that Yuye Cai, 56, a native of Fujian, People’s Republic of China, committed suicide due to family problems.

It was the victim’s son, Lee Bunai, was the one who found her body hanging inside the CR with a 12-foot long rope tied around her neck with its other end attached to the CR’s beam.

The victim, her husband and two children are renting a room in the third floor of the building.

SPO3 Rey Cuyos of Cebu City Police Office-Homicide Section said he had talked with the victim’s daughter, Kunli Chen, 36, who alleged her mother was having problems with their family, but refused to elaborate further.

Cuyos said he tried to get the side of the victim’s husband but the latter, who was “very saddened of his wife’s fate,” refused to talk on the incident.

The police investigator said the family has been renting the room for one year and is engaged in buy and sell business.

The police said they will coordinate with Chinese liaison officers for further investigation on the incident.

The victim’s cadaver will be subjected for an autopsy though police said there was no indication of foul play. – Niña G. Sumacot with Lesley Caminade of Banat News/WAB   (FREEMAN NEWS)
