Couple charged for selling shabu

CEBU, Philippines - The Philippine Drug enforcement Agency has filed criminal charges against a couple for drug peddling and possession of illegal drugs before the Regional Trial Court yesterday.

Erlita and Bernardino Bordin were charged following their arrest during a buy bust operation that was conducted by the PDEA agents last January 19 along Juan Luna Street, Mabolo, Cebu City.

Erlita was arrested separately shortly after her husband was apprehended for drug peddling. She was seen by an agent flicking a pack of shabu to the ground.

Bernardino was arrested after he was caught selling a plastic packet of shabu to IO1 Kristian Sesante, who served as the poseur buyer during the operation.

The operatives conducted the buy bust against Bernardino also known as “Dino,” after receiving reports on the alleged drug peddling activities in the area.

Dino was playing cards outside his house when approached by the informant and told that Sesante wants to buy P200 worth of shabu from him.

Recovered from Dino’s possession was the marked money along with the pack of shabu.

The court recommended no bail for Dino while an amount of P200,000 was set for Erlita’s temporary liberty. — Jasmin U. Labaco/WAB     (FREEMAN NEWS)
