Cop nabs own son for stabbing tanod

CEBU, Philippines - A policeman arrested his own son for stabbing a barangay tanod over a heated argument with the use of a broken bottle early morning last Friday in Barangay Ermita, Cebu City.

SPO3 Samuel Pogoy, presently assigned at Poblacion Market Police Station under Lapu-Lapu Police Office, arrested his 27-year-old son, Roswel Flores Pogoy alias “Tawing” for allegedly attacking and wounding Rogie Cabras alias “Okong,” 26.

Cabras, a tanod of Barangay Ermita, was wounded on the face after allegedly stabbed by the younger Pogoy in the face with the use of a broken bottle past 4 a.m. in Sitio Bato of the said barangay where both of them reside.

Police said that Roswel and Cabras, both believed to be under the influence of liquor, engaged in a heated argument that prompted the latter to attack the victim.

Cabras was taken to the Cebu City Medical Center where he was now confined and placed under observation while the suspect was detained at the Carbon Police Station of the Cebu City Police Office pending filing of the appropriate charges against him. — Niña G. Sumacot/WAB (FREEMAN NEWS)
