9 trafficking cases filed vs homosexual
CEBU, Philippines - Nine more counts of trafficking of minors were filed in court against a homosexual who was caught in 2008 for exploiting minors.
The Cebu City Prosecutor's Office filed nine separate cases for violation of Section 4(a) in relation to Section 6(c) of the Republic Act 9208 against Lewis Dacanay, alias Boy Jeorge. No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty. “
Dacanay was arrested in October 2008 during an entrapment operation after Barangay Captain Nida Cabrera of Barangay Luz sought police assistance following reports that several children from her barangay were sodomized by the accused.“
The nine cases that the prosecutor's office filed yesterday were on top of the previous cases already filed in court and are now on trial.“
The complainants in the new charges against Dacanay included children with ages ranging from seven to 15 years old.”
Dacanay's arrest on October 25, 2008 was a result of a surveillance operation conducted by the barangay. It started with a minor who admitted having met with Dacanay after having contacts with him through the Internet.“
The minor then only identified the accused as Jorge, who allegedly sexually abused him in exchange for money. Through the minor, a dragnet was set up that resulted to the arrest of the accused. – Fred P. Languido/LPM (FREEMAN NEWS)
