Gullas museum opens today

CEBU, Philippines - The Dodong R. Gullas Museum will be formally inaugurated today, January 12, with Governor Gwen Garcia and Congressman Nerissa Soon-Ruiz leading the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

According to Jose “Dodong” Gullas, chairman of The Freeman, the museum is dedicated in honor of the memory of his parents Don Vicente and Inday Pining Gullas, who founded the University of the Visayas.

Joining Gov. Gwen and Rep. Soon-Ruiz are Cebu’s most famous musical artists—Pilita Corrales, Dulce and Raki Vega—who will also topbill Halad 2010, another project of Gullas, which is an all-Cebuano concert cum cultural showcase at the Grand Pacific Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel tomorrow, Jan. 13.

Today’s opening of the museum, which houses memorabilia of famous Cebuano composers and artists, is by-invitation only. The museum will officially be opened to the public on February 2.    (FREEMAN NEWS)
