CEBU, Philippines - On the 88th founding anniversary of the municipality of Sogod, Mayor Lissa Marie “Moonyeen” Durano shared the accomplishments of her administration with special mention on closely working with various government agencies for the implementation of projects like in agriculture.
Following in the footprints of her late father, Mayor Thaddeus Durano, she said that support to the farmers is being strengthened by letting them undergo seminars and the provision of inputs on modern technology, as well as seeds, fertilizers and other forms of assistance such as the improvement of the town’s water system.
She mentioned the great help of Fifth District Rep. Ramon “Red” Durano VI who provided full support to her programs in the town especially to the farmers.
“Nakita nato nga daghan sa atong mga kaigsoonan nga mag-uuma nga nanginahanglan og tabang, mao nga wala gyod ta magmakuli sa atong tabang ngadto kanila,” she said.
Further, the mayor said that the senior citizens in Sogod are also given special attention by her administration with the act of increasing their financial assistance from P10,000 to P100,000 through their association.
She also made representations to PhilHealth in providing health cards to poor residents who continue to avail of the program in government-accredited hospitals. — Jose P. Sollano/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
