CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Labor Coalition is hoping that the Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board will soon tackle their wage hike petition.
Jose Tomongha, CLC convenor and president of the Alliance for Progressive Labor said that their petition was filed a few months ago and until now no action has been taken.
The FREEMAN tried to get a statement from RTWPB chairman and Department of Labor and Employment regional director Elias Cayanong but they were not available.
Other members of the board were also not available for comments as to the status of the said petition.
CLC earlier filed for a P128.60 across-the-board wage hike for Region 7 citing among other reasons the increase in the prices of basic commodities, fuel prices and even the impending fare hike.
"We can only hope nga unta ilaha ng tagdun ang amoang petisyon," Tomongha said. – Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon/BRP (FREEMAN NEWS)
