Waitress robbed, stabbed along Escario Street
CEBU, Philippines - A waitress is now in critical condition after she was robbed and stabbed by two unidentified motorcycle-riding men along Escario Street, Barangay Camputhaw, Cebu City.
The victim was identified as Jacelyn Digito Veloso, 19, a resident of Escario Street Extension of the barangay.
Police investigation revealed that the victim was walking on her way home from her work at Ninoy’s Payag when, from behind, two unidentified men riding on a motorcycle grabbed her shoulder bag.
When she tried to pull her bag back, the backrider pulled out an ice-pick and stabbed the victim several times. The robbers then carted away the victim’s bag that contains only P150 and her mobile phone worth P1,500.
The victim was rushed to Cebu City Medical Center and is now in her critical condition.
Sr. Insp. Michael Bastes, chief of Theft and Robbery Section of Cebu City Police Office, said they have yet to identify the robbers.
