Applications for nursing work, caregiving in Japan accepted

-

CEBU, Philippines - Those who would want to work in Japan as caregivers and nurses now have the chances of gaining employment there as the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration in cooperation with the Japan International Corporation of Welfare Services is now accepting applicants for the second batch on said job slots.

POEA administrator Jennifer Jardin-Manalili, in a press statement sent to The FREEMAN, said that pre-employment orientation will commence soon for qualified applicants who have registered online and who have maintained an active status through the e-registration system of the website www.poea.gov.ph.

Manalili said that qualified applicants who have knowledge of the Japanese language have a big advantage.

She added that the deadline for registration is on December 15, 2010 and that applicants with complete documents will be given priority.

Manalili further said that based on the experience from the first deployment, majority of the Japanese institutions prefer applicants between 20 years old to 38 years old.

She also said that the first batch of Filipino candidate nurses and caregivers that were already deployed this year under the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement are now undergoing on-the-job training in their respective hospitals of residence, or care-giving institutions, shortly after they have completed their six-month language training on site.

Manalili added that these hospitals and care-giving institutions are also strict about the psychological and physical fitness of the applicants. – Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon/MEEV (FREEMAN NEWS)
