RMG-7 cop hurt in accident, another loses gun to burglar

CEBU, Philippines - A policeman got injured after figuring in a vehicular accident while another lost his service firearm and other belongings to a suspected burglar in separate incidents here in Cebu City.

PO1 Richard Salceda, 27, currently assigned at the Regional Mobile Group-7 stationed in Moalboal town got injured after the motorcycle he was driving rammed onto a Toyota Innova Wagon driven by one Manuelito Judilla, 45, of barangay Labangon, this city.

Salceda, of barangay Tisa, was negotiating a road in Salvador Extension corner Sacred Heart Village in Labangon on his way home from duty at around 8 p.m. last Sunday when the front portion of his motorcycle with plate numbers 9207-GK accidentally hit the right side portion of Judilla’s car bearing plate numbers ZPN-827.

Judilla was said to be on the process of turning left en route to Sacred Heart Village that time when the motorcycle hit his car.

Salceda was taken to the Cebu City Medical Center by responding Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation personnel.

Meanwhile, PO1 Albert Sator, also 27 and also of the RMG-7, but this time based in Sibonga town reported to the Theft and Robbery Section of the Cebu City Police Office of the alleged loss of his Pietro Beretta 9 mm. issued firearm, his pair of rubber shoes and pieces of jewelry owned by his mother.

Sator reported that he was asleep in a room located at the basement of his house. As nobody was using the room next to the main door, he placed the items there.

He woke up past 5 a.m. only to discover of the missing items.

Ocular investigation conducted showed that there was no sign of forcible entries into the crime scene.

However, the victim claimed that he left the window, made of jalousie blades, beside the main door open. He further said that if the window was left open, the lock of the main door can be easily reached and can eventually be opened also.
