NBI files murder case vs. 2 Koreans

CEBU, Philippines - Despite the double murder case that the police have already filed against the suspects in the twin murder of Korean nationals Yang Soon Suk and Choi Ho Jun whose bodies were found dumped in barangay Uling, Naga, the National Bureau of Investigation yesterday filed a separate murder complaints against the two Korean suspects and their Filipino accomplices.

The NBI filed the complaints for double murder before the Talisay City Prosecutor’s Office against Park Tae Sung, Cho Young Hun and three unidentified Filipino accomplices. Hun’s live-in partner, Rosalie Flores, was also charged as an accessory to the crime and for obstruction of justice.

The filing of the complaint was based on the testimonies of the witnesses interviewed by the NBI. Another Korean, Kang Song Il, told the NBI that last November 14 at around 6:30 p.m. he was about to have dinner with the two victims when they received a phone call from Park.

Kang said that the victims were told to meet Park in a coffee shop in IT Park in Lahug. According to Kang, that was the last time he saw the victims alive.

On November 16 the dead bodies of Yang and Choi were found at the bottom of a cliff in Naga. Kang said he immediately called Park to ask what happened because he was the last person he knew to have met with the victims.

Park reportedly begged off claiming he was very busy, however, Kang later found out that the suspect left that same day for Hong Kong together with his girlfriend.

Another Korean, Seo Ri Ra, Park’s interpreter, also told the NBI that Park admitted to her that he and Hun with the assistance of three unidentified Filipinos conspired in killing the victims inside a warehouse in Talisay City.

Seo said that Park told her that after killing they loaded the dead bodies into the trunk of a yellow Hyundai Tiburon which was used to dump the bodies.

The vehicle was later recovered by the NBI operatives led by special investigator Arnel Pura in a shop owned by Crispin Causon Jr. in barangay San Isidro, Talisay City.

The vehicle’s color was already changed to red. Causon said the vehicle was turned over by Rosalie Flores for repainting because they have an interested buyer.

The NBI’s recovery of the vehicle was based on the search warrant issued by the court. The testimony of a motorcycle-for-hire driver who claimed to have witnessed the bodies being thrown off the cliff aslso helped investigators in locating the vehicle. — Fred P. Languido/BRP   (FREEMAN NEWS)
