Two most wanted in Dumanjug fall

-

CEBU, Philippines - The two most wanted persons in Dumanjug town were arrested in a joint operation of the Dumanjug police and the 703rd Provincial Mobile Group yesterday.

Jenisis Gimena and his cousin Garry Gimena were arrested by virtue of two separate warrants issued by Judge Leopoldo Cañete of the Regional Trial Court in Barili town.

The arresting team, led by Insp. Roland Aliser, first arrested Jenisis around 5am in barangay Bullogan in Dumanjug. Authorities seized a KG-9 machine gun, two magazines and 30 live ammunitions from his possession.

Jenisis is facing a criminal case for murder and attempted homicide. The court recommended a P12,000 bail for the attempted homicide case, but no bail was recommended for the murder case.

It was reportedly Jenisis who informed authorities of Garry’s location, which the arresting team traced about three hours later.

Around 8am, Garry was apprehended in barangay Can-abuhon in the neighboring town of Ronda at the residence of the Gutana family.

Garry was accused of killing Norberto Riconalla, supervisor of CEBECO, last March 16, 2009 inside the premises of CEBECO in Barangay Bituon, Ronda. Riconalla sustained several gunshot wounds in different parts of his body that caused his instantaneous death.

Riconalla was reportedly eyeing a higher position in CEBECO when he was killed.

Aside from Riconalla’s death, Garry was also accused of killing American national John Walter Zuke last October 2, 2009 in Dumanjug.

The police said the Gutana family would be invited for questioning to determine why they sheltered the suspect. — Gabriel C. Bonjoc/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
