CPPO effects minor revamp

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Provincial Police Office director Jesus Gaquing did a minor revamp in the organization involving some policemen who are facing administrative and criminal cases.

Gaquing relieved PO3 Sherwin Leyson and PO2 Johramie Espinosa of the Bogo Police Station after he himself caught them sleeping while on duty. The policemen, who he also caught in the act of not wearing their prescribed uniform, had the police station’s door closed as well, Gaquing said.

Both cops were relieved to the Poro Police Station in Camotes Island.

SPO1 Rene Donaire and PO1 Benjie Garcia, both from the Poro Police Station, were relieved to the Ronda Police Station after a detainee under their custody escaped; this after the filing of a criminal case against the detainee last Tuesday.

PO2 Jose Reden Hortelano of the Tabogon Police Station, who was reportedly caught selling unlicensed firearms during an entrapment operation in Danao City last Saturday night, was relieved to the Malabuyoc Police Station.

Hortelano was swapped with PO1 Gilbert Igot of the Malabuyoc Police Station. Igot was relieved to the Tabogon Police Station after he allegedly fired indiscriminately his gun during the match of boxing icons Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto.

Chief Insp. Januario Sario, then Ronda Police chief, was relieved to the Provincial Security and Service Group of the CPPO as he is set to pursue further studies for career advancement.

Insp. Audie Pelayo, personnel from the lateral entry, is now the chief of Samboan Police Station.

Gaquing said he will recommend these policemen, with cases, to submit themselves to the next cadet training as a “refresher on their supposed duties.” — Niña G. Sumacot/MEEV    (FREEMAN NEWS)
