Case readied vs. Madridejos cop caught in drug session
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Police Office headed by Senior Supt. Jesus Gaquing will be recommending a case for grave misconduct against PO3 Fraksidy Abalo, the Madridejos policeman who was arrested by barangay San Nicolas police officers for alleged use of illegal drugs together with his wife and another male companion.
SPO4 Lamberto Hibaya, investigator, said that after conducting a probe, they saw probable cause and that they even have bases to recommend the filing of case for grave misconduct against the erring cop at the Police Regional Office-7 through its director Chief Supt. Lani-O Nerez.
He added that if their recommendation will be approved, summary hearing will be the next procedure.
On the other hand, the case of Abalo on his absence without official leave (AWOL) is now ongoing. If proven guilty, he will be dismissed from the police service.
It was reported earlier that the chief of the San Nicolas Police Station, Senior Insp. Noel Lomente, directly filed a case against Abalo for illegal possession of drug paraphernalia last November 5 of this year.
He said that Abalo was assigned in the Mobile Patrol Group before but was relieved after he committed a violation.
“Noted na gyod ni siya nga tiggamitan og drugs. Na-warningan naman gani ni sa IDMB (Intelligence and Detective Management Bureau) sa una pero gibuhat pa gyod gihapon niya. Dili man ka mahawa siguro sa CCPO (Cebu City Police Office) kung magtinarong lang ka,” Lomente said.
He added that Abalo’s wife was also involved in the session but that she eluded arrest together with the other male companion.
Meanwhile, Gaquing said that he already ordered his men, most especially Insp. Ruben Cuizon, to get the report of the San Nicolas Police for the filing of an administrative case against Abalo.
“Although binuhatan na niya pero nauwawan gihapon mi kay police sab baya siya. Dili lang sa CPPO kundi sa tibuok PNP organization,” Gaquing said. — Gabriel C. Bonjoc/MEEV (FREEMAN NEWS)
