CEBU, Philippines - The two foreign-looking men who were brutally killed and dumped in the mountain barangay of Uling, Naga town remain unidentified until now.
As of yesterday afternoon, PO2 Miguel Castañares said that there were still no claimants who went to their office or to the funeral parlor to claim the two bodies.
In an interview, Castañares said there are possibilities that the victims are members of a syndicate and had problem with their group that’s why they were slain.
The victims were described as 5’11 in height, white complexioned, have tattoos in their bodies, in their late 30s and are believed to be Korean or Japanese nationals.
However, he added that they still do not discount the possibility that they were robbed and killed as no belongings or even items that could identify them was found from their bodies when they were discovered.
One of the residents, Marlon Oberes, found the victims’ bodies at around 6 a.m. last Sunday in Sitio Tres, Barangay Uling Naga and immediately reported it to the police officers.
The victims sustained hack, stab and gunshot wounds in different parts of their bodies which were believed to have caused their death. Oberes alleged that at around 9 p.m. the previous day, he said a yellow multicab without plate number stopped near where the bodies were found.
Supt. Anthony Bagarinao, chief of police of Naga, said they believe the victims were not killed in their place but were just thrown there. However, he added their investigation is still going on and they find it difficult to solve the crime as no witness has yet come out to help them much more that the two have remained unidentified until now.
The cadavers of the two victims are still being laid at the St. Francis Funeral Homes along N. Bacalso Avenue in Cebu City.
Junjie dela Calzada, embalmer of St. Francis Funeral Homes, believed that the victims were killed on Sunday and were thrown right away.
