Retiring cop nabbed for drugs posts bail
CEBU, Philippines - The policeman who was arrested along with a companion for possession of drug sniffing paraphernalia last November 4 were able to post bail before the Regional Trial Court yesterday after paying the recommended bond of P40,000.
PO3 Fraksidy Abalo, 54 years old, and his companion Bobby Inoc, 29, are facing charges for possession of drug paraphernalia before the RTC. Abalo who is set to retire from service was arrested with drug sniffing paraphernalia along with Inoc in barangay Calamba, this city.SPO1 Roger Sering, one of the arresting officers, said that they received a call from their station of an armed person in A. Lopez Street.
When they arrived at the area, police spotted Abalo and Inoc near a shanty.Police said they suspect that the shanty was used as a drug den.Police also said that Abalo was caught carrying paraphernalia used in sniffing shabu such as a tooter, a tinfoil and a lighter.
SPO4 Reynaldo Origenes of the San Nicolas Police Station said that Abalo’s presence in the area was suspicious since he lives in Talisay City.Abalo claimed that he was in the area to collect payments from the customers of his wife who runs a lending business.
On the other hand, Senior Supt. Jesus Gaquing, chief of the Cebu Provincial Police Office, ordered an administrative investigation against Abalo who is assigned in Madridejos, a town in Bantayan Island, northernmost of Cebu.Gaquing said he also ordered Abalo to undergo a drug test. — Jasmin R.
