Bus liner's security guard charged for death of boy
CEBU, Philippines - A security guard working for the Ceres Bus was charged for murder before the Regional Trial Court yesterday for allegedly shooting to death a minor inside the company’s compound about nine months ago at Sitio Tagunol, Barangay Basak, San Nicolas.
The Office of the City Prosecutor has given Dante Yangan 10 days to answer the complaint but he failed to, so resulting the filing of the charge against him before the RTC.
Yangan has been accused of shooting to death 13-year-old Ronei Lucero inside the Ceres compound at 2:24 p.m. on February 18.
The victim, Ronei Lucero, together with Bienvenido Garcia, Joshuamar Pugoy, Brian Dehito and a certain Jake allegedly went inside the VTI Ceres compound to get some mango.
When they were about to climb a tree, Jake saw Yangan and warned his companions of the presence of the security guard, prompting them to run and climb the concrete fence.
However, Yangan was able to fire his service firearm hitting Lucero who fell off the fence. When the victim shouted for help, his companions went back to help him but they all ran when they saw a barangay tanod approaching.
Lucero was brought to the hospital but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. —Jasmin R. Uy/WAB (FREEMAN NEWS)
