Family of Alvin Flores sends lawyer to check body's identity
CEBU, Philippines - The family of bigtime robbery group leader Alvin Flores who was killed in a shootout late last October sent a lawyer to Cebu yesterday to verify the body which remains at the Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes along Junquera St., Cebu City.
Attorney Cayetano Santos, representative of the family of Flores, went to the said funeral homes around 10 a.m. yesterday to allegedly get a picture of the body and have it identified by the family who is based in Manila.
Santos said the family sought assistance from the Commission of Human Rights-Manila to know where the body of Flores was.
The CHR-Manila then allegedly sought assistance from the National Bureau of Investigation-Manila through medico-legal officer Rene Cam who gave them the information they were seeking.
“As to the circumstances sa pagkamatay ‘nung victim, ayaw na nila (family of Flores) sagutin,” Santos said.
The lawyer said he will then go back to Manila to show the photo to the family and eventually go back to Cebu to finally claim the body if it is positively identified.
Rene Batiencela, an arrested member of the group, told investigators that Flores had plastic surgery before the police operation last October 29.
