CEBU, Philippines - Policemen will be deployed in major cemeteries in the city and in cemeteries in mountain barangays from October 30 until November 3 in line with the observance of All Saints Day and All Souls Day.
City Police Director Patrocinio Comendador said yesterday members of the Police Auxiliary Group will assist policemen during these days.
Both uniformed and covert or plain-clothed police personnel will be deployed in the cemeteries. Comendador also said members of the Special Weapons and Tactics would be more visible in cemeteries this year.
“Basically, the preparations will be the same as the previous years’ and this time, with equal distribution of personnel in the different cemeteries. They will be assisted especially by PAG,” Comendador said.
He added that they will coordinate with telephone companies to provide them with security cameras to be installed in major cemeteries in the city.
Among the cemeteries with the most number of crowds are the Queen City Garden and the cemeteries in barangays Carreta, Calamba, and Pardo.
Like in the previous years, Comendador said bladed weapons and intoxicating liquors will not be allowed inside the cemeteries.
The police would also strictly implement the city’s anti-noise ordinance. — Niña G. Sumacot/JMO (FREEMAN NEWS)
