Another homicide case versus Osorio "gunman"

-

CEBU, Philippines - Allan Senogat, the deputy chief tanod of barangay Maghanay who was accused of killing assistant city prosecutor Patrick Osorio last January is facing yet another case for homicide for the death of one Pedro Delvo last May.

The Talisay City Prosecutor’s Office indicted Senogat, Felix Abacahan, Jr. and Susano Labrador into the charge after they were identified as among those who allegedly killed Delvo and three others during a shootout in barangay Maghaway evening on May 29, 2009.

Delvo’s son, Joulden, said he saw Abacahan shoot his father but missed, which gave Delvo the chance to return fire, but also missed.

When Delvo’s gun reportedly malfunctioned, Abacahan’s companion Junifer Villasencio grabbed the chance to stab Delvo on the neck, as Labrador hit the victim’s head with a stone.

Delvo’s stepson, Alex Murallos, also came to his father’s rescue and shot Villasencio to death. Another companion of the suspects, Melchor Tabay, reportedly tried to shoot Murallos but missed, which gave the latter the chance to shoot him back. Tabay also died on the spot.

Senogat arrived to help Abacahan, but Murallos tried to pepper him with bullets. Senogat, however, was able to find cover.

When Murallos ran out of bullets, an unidentified person struck him with a piece of wood and rendered him unconscious. Another man shot him on the head. Together with the two unidentified men, Senogat then went to Delvo and finished off the victim.

The three accused denied any involvement in the crime but Associate Prosecution Attorney Jenelyn Forrosuelo found probable cause to file the case against them in court. A bail of P40,000 each was recommended for their temporary liberty. – Fred P. Languido/JMO   (FREEMAN NEWS)
