CEBU, Philippines - As the election period draws near, Provincial Police Director Jesus Gaquing yesterday urged the rival political parties in Tudela to abide with the law and refrain from engaging in violent acts that would instill fear among residents of the town.
Along with this, Gaquing instructed the police chief in Tudela to be open to both sides, especially when the Comelec en banc arrives at a decision on the ongoing political dispute between archrivals Demetrio Granada and Rogelio Baquerfo.
“If naa na gani order, I hope they will just comply and not (to) make any violent action,” Gaquing said, adding, that the police force in Tudela is ready to implement any order that would maintain peace and order in the town.
Tudela remains peaceful, so far, but Gaquing said he would order the Special Reaction Unit to return to the town should tension rise again. — Gabriel C. Bonjoc/JMO NLQ (FREEMAN NEWS)
