Man stabs bypasser for asking another drink

CEBU, Philippines - A man landed at the hospital after the man who offered him a drink got irked when the victim asked for another glass.

Antonio Dizon, 59, a resident of barangay Kinasang-an was walking along E. Tabura Street towards his friend’s house shortly before midnight last Friday when he passed by two men drinking by the street. One of the two, Diony Velbar, 50, offered him a drink, which Dizon took.

When Dizon asked for another glass, however, Velbar reportedly got irked and stabbed Dizon, hitting him on the back.

Two men who witnessed the incident placed Velbar on citizen’s arrest while awaiting the barangay tanods who arrived at the scene a few minutes later. — Niña G. Sumacot/JMO   (THE FREEMAN NEWS)
