Reactions in Cebu on Teodoro as Lakas-Kampi standard bearer

CEBU, Philippines - Sixth District Representative Nerissa Soon-Ruiz, who is the district chapter chairman of Lakas-Kampi-CMD, is happy that the party has chosen a standard bearer.

"Nalipay kaayo ko nga naa nay consensus among the members of the party. We are happy that the party chose [Defense Secretary Gilbert] Teodoro to be our standard bearer," said Soon-Ruiz, who is also the party's interim vice president for Visayas.

She said that with a standard bearer they can now be properly guided about actions to take most especially in the local level.

Several mayors from Cebu, who had Teodoro as guest of honor in their general assembly, have expressed their intention to support his bid for the presidency if chosen by the administration party.

Some problems in the local level are however expected by political pundits as most of the incumbent officials belong to the coalition, but are at political odds.

Cebu City South District Rep. Tony Cuenco hailed Teodoro as and excellent choice of the coalition.
