CEBU, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation has filed charges of kidnapping and serious illegal detention against two brothers believed to be involved in the disappearance of a man in barangay Jumangpas, Samboan town, last June 25.
Dominador and Adelaido Rodriguez are facing charges of kidnapping and serious illegal detention charges before the Provincial Prosecutors Office yesterday after a deaf-mute witness identified them as the ones who were responsible for the disappearance of Willard Dinampo, alias “Tata”, of the said place.
According to the witness who sought the assistance of the NBI, she saw a man riding a motorcycle who was attacked by two men, one armed with a long steel rod and the other a gun.
The first man used the steel rod to hit the man riding the motorcycle and when the latter fell down, the other shot him and they then dragged the body away.
In a police lineup made by the Samboan police who invited the brothers, the deaf mute identified Dominador and Adelaido as the perpetrators of the crime.
It was later found out that the man riding the motorcycle was Dinampo; his body has yet to be found.
According to Dinampo’s wife, her husband had an argument with Dominador while the two were playing “hantak” at a store.During the ensuing fight, Dinampo sustained a stab wound in the thigh.
The night before Dinampo disappeared he said he was going to the house of a certain Antonio Durban.
On said date, the Samboan police responded to a shooting alarm at around 12:30 a.m. in sitio Calinawan, barangay Monteverde, Samboan, in the house of Dominador.
According to Dominador, Dinampo went to his house in a motorcycle and fired several shots at him. — Jasmin R. Uy/BRP (FREEMAN NEWS)
