CEBU, Philippines - Prosecutors yesterday elevated to court formal charges against two men believed to be caretakers of a house owned by an alleged shabu dealer in Holy Name, barangay Mabolo.
Romeo Blanco and Cirilo Ariesgado were charged in court for alleged violation of Section 11 and 12 of the Dangerous Drugs Act or illegal possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit-7 arrested the suspects on September 2 in the middle of a shabu session with four others who were charged separately for using shabu. The shabu session allegedly happened at the house of a certain “Akie,” the subject of the search warrant issued by the court.
Authorities conducted the search after learning of drug activities in the area. The raid yielded five small plastic packs of shabu, three improvised tooters, aluminum foil and plastic.
The raiding team also confiscated 21 packs of shabu from Blanco estimated to weigh 0.44 grams.
Charged for alleged drug use include Vilma Mondejar, Reynante Talaugon, Junalyn Miñoza and Nedie Bustodio.
Prosecutors recommended P120,000 bail for the temporary liberty of the two accused. — Jasmin R. Uy/JMO (FREEMAN NEWS)
