CEBU, Philippines - Two counts of child abuse-related complaints were filed before the Regional Trial Court yesterday against a computer engineer who was arrested over allegations that he sexually molested a number of teenage boys.
After his arrest for reportedly abusing minors, respondent Lewis Dacanay alias “Boy George” has been charged for violation of Section 5, Article III of Republic Act 7610 or other acts of lasciviousness.
Dacanay was given until November 6 last year to submit his counter affidavit and to present pieces of evidence but none were filed and that he was already nowhere to be found; thus, the charges had already been forwarded to the RTC.
One of the victims, a 14-year old said that he met Dacanay in July of 2006 after the latter was introduced to him by a friend. They met Dacanay while the latter was reportedly tailing them inside the IT Park in barangay Lahug.
At first, on July 8, 2006, he said that he and his friend were taken to the latter’s house where Dacanay allegedly took videos of them naked. It was then the prelude to the sexual molestation done on him by Dacanay, he said.
He claimed that in return for the favor, Dacanay gave him P500 and provided food and even managed to coax him to a motel on their second meeting in September where Dacanay introduced him to what “homosexual sex” is.
He said that it was consummated because even if he was not physically ready, he badly needed money.
The bail for Dacanay’s temporary liberty which was supposed to be at P40,000 was raised to P120,000 yesterday. — Jasmin R. Uy/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
