CEBU, Philippines - The Mass Communication program of the University of the Philippines in the Visayas Cebu College is holding its first inter-school photography competition for college amateur photographers in Cebu.
The theme of the photo contest is Kinabuhing Cebuano. Photo entries should be reflective to the theme and must be taken within August 15, 2009 to September 18, 2009. Entries by professional photographers are disqualified.
Submission of entries will be done during the registration period from September 14 to 18, 2009 at the Humanities Division of the UPVCC in barangay Lahug, this city. Forms are available upon registration with a fee of P25.
First prize winner will get P5,000; P4,000 for the second prize, P3,000 for third. Special prizes are also at stake.
Professor Marx Iturralde, adviser of VC 132.1 (Photography) Class in UPVCC is the head of the activity. The competition is aimed at encouraging college amateur photographers in Cebu to enhance their photography skills. The contest is also one of the activities prepared by the UPVCC MassCom program in line with the celebration of Cebu Press Freedom Week next month.
