Farmer found cultivating dope not allowed to bail

-

CEBU, Philippines - The Regional Trial Court yesterday disallowed a man from posting bail after his arrest for allegedly cultivating marijuana in sitio Tuburan, on Cebu City’s mountain barangay of Pung-ol.

SPO2 Noel Catingub and SPO2 Graciano Tan arrested one Genaro Sequera the other day after he was reportedly caught tending to his marijuana plantation.

The police said that they did a surveillance in the area after receiving reports of a farm there where marijuana plants are grown.

The police also said that they were able to uproot 120 stalks of fully grown marijuana and to seize 200 seedlings in a seed box kept inside Sequera’s hut.

The marijuana plants were then submitted to the PNP Crime Laboratory for analysis.

Sequera has been charged with violation of Section 16 of the Dangerous Drugs Act. — Jasmin R. Uy/MEEV   (THE FREEMAN)
