CEBU, Philippines - A member of the notorious Bloods gang has been charged with two counts of attempted homicide before the Regional Trial Court last Friday for shooting two bystanders in barangay Lorega-San Miguel.
Marvin Diaz has been charged for shooting Sarah Dughon Dizon and Joan Aresga Aguinaldo who were just standing along the road in Lorega-San Miguel last August 1.
Earl Fajardo in his affidavit said that they were at the San Miguel public market buying some fruits at the time when about a group of 30 youngsters passed by walking towards barangay Carreta.
Fajardo said that when the group saw him and his friend, they started pointing a dirty finger at him and his companion. They ignored them to avoid trouble.
When they crossed the street, one of the youngsters, who was later identified as Diaz, pulled out a handgun from the waist of their female companion and fired at them.
The shots apparently hit Dizon and Aguinaldo who were standing at the side of the road and they were brought to the hospital.
Diaz was arrested by police after a witness identified him as the one who shot the two victims. — Jasmin R. Uy/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
