The search conducted past 11 a.m. last Monday was conducted by virtue of a warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Soliver Peras.

Regional Police Director Lani-O Nerez said all the firearms seized were stocked inside Villacarillo’s house and surveillance was conducted for a month before the search was made.

Nerez said they knew that Villacarillo is a member of shooters club but the firearms seized were “too much for a shooters club member.”

Nerez subsequently lauded Sr. Supt. Ramon Rafael and Sr. Supt. Melvin Ramon Buenafe for leading a successful operation.

Nerez said the operation was in line with the police’s campaign against loose firearms upon orders of President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo to reduce the number of loose firearm in the country by at least three percent monthly in preparation of the forthcoming elections. – Gabriel C.
