Cops accused of hushing up arrest

-

CEBU, Philippines - Three policemen of the Cebu City Police Office are now under investigation after they allegedly did not blotter the arrest of a businessman who was apprehended with a kilo of shabu last month.

Based on information received by dySS Super Radyo, an informant said that last July 19 a businessman was arrested by policemen inside a food chain along Escario St., barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City.

CCPO director Sr. Supt. Patrocinio Comendador said they have placed SPO1s Frederick Ybañez and Cesar Pandong and PO1 Roy Veloso under investigation.

The three are members of the Investigation Detection and Management Branch under the supervision of Supt. Pablo Labra II. Comendador added that he will verify the said report as these are serious allegations.

Comendador also challenged the informant to help in the investigation of the case by testifying against the policemen.

— Johanna T. Natavio/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
