CEBU, Philippines - A bigtime drug pusher who is reportedly a brother of a policeman was arrested by elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7 around 4 a.m. yesterday in sitio San Roque, barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.
PDEA spokesperson Jessie Tabanao said Farouk Hamis, 46, was arrested by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Mienrado Paredes of Regional Trial Court Branch 13 last Monday.
Tabanao said that a big pack of suspected shabu and five cellular phones were seized inside the house of Hamis.
Hamis is a brother of SPO2 Rashid Hamis, who is detailed at Police Regional Office-7 as liaison officer of the Salaam Center.
The pieces of evidence were submitted to the police crime laboratory for examination.
If it found out that the illegal drug confiscated from him is more than five grams, Hamis would be facing a non-bailable case.
