Construction worker dies of electrocution

CEBU, Philippines - A 21-year-old construction worker died of electrocution after he accidentally stepped on a live wire while at work past 10 am yesterday.

Investigation revealed that Limbert Zabanal Bucog, a native of Guihulngan, Negros Oriental and a stay-in worker of Dakay Construction was attaching a frame on the roof at the second floor of a resort in Lapu-Lapu City that is ongoing construction when he accidentally stepped on the live wire.

It was later discovered that the wire did not have an insulator.

His fellow workers rushed Bucog to the Mactan Doctor’s Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Investigating officer SPO1 Frederick Islit of Lapu-Lapu City Police Homicide Section said Bucog no external injuries were found on Bucog’s body.
