Tisa pusher faces raps

CEBU, Philippines - An alleged drug pusher who locked himself in his house during his arrest has been charged with possession of illegal drugs before the Regional Trial Court late last week.

Charlie Parba was the subject of the buy-bust operation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Cebu City Police Office after the authorities received reports of drug dealing in barangay Tisa, this city.

When police conducted a buy-bust operation in Tisa last July 8, PO1 Adriano Bacatan acted as poseur buyer.

Bacatan said that while he was attempting to buy drugs from the suspect, Parba suddenly rejected the drug deal and ran away.

Bacatan said that Parba “locked himself inside his house with metal bars on the door and the windows which made it hard for them to make him surrender.”

He added that while the suspect was running inside his house, he saw him throwing away a medium-sized packet of shabu in an alley. He picked the packet up and introduced himself as a police officer.

They talked to Parba for his surrender, until the latter relented.
