UV inaugurates moot court

CEBU, Philippines - As the Gullas Law School of the University of the Visayas continues in its pursuit for academic excellence, the first moot court constructed for Law students was inaugurated last Saturday inside the school.

The inauguration was started with a blessing with university president Eduardo Gullas, Dean Teodoro Almase, and several faculty, staff and Law students of the school.

The place, according to Gullas and Almase in their dedication, is a testament of the Gullas Law School’s concern for the welfare of the students, the continued pursuit for academic excellence and producing top caliber lawyers.

“For you, our dear students, we offer you this place of learning. Use it and make it as a venture towards the achievement of your goals in joining the legal profession and becoming the best in it,” the dedication further read.

Moot court is where Law students simulate taking part in court proceedings.

The edifice was started last year and was completed a year after and was inaugurated last Saturday.

Gullas, in his brief speech, with the inauguration of the moot court, encouraged Law students to not just stop in theory showed by the books that they are ought to read all the time, but also master their field through practice.

Almase thanked the student body and faculty of the school for the “very enthusiastic response’ for the improvement of the facilities of the school.
